Yu Ma

Frontend & Gameplay Engineer

I build interactive systems — React and TypeScript front ends, Unity/C# gameplay, and Direct3D 11 graphics. B.S. Game Design and Development, RIT, 2026.

Projects

Gameplay systems, real-time graphics, and web applications — with the reasoning behind each.

Skills

What I build with, and where the evidence for each one lives.

C#

Gameplay systems, game AI, and a from-scratch neural network — Casual Civ, NeuralNet2D, Wager Warren, PeaceLand.

Unity

Gameplay, simulation, and editor tooling, including a ScriptableObject authoring workflow with custom Editor windows.

C++

Real-time rendering pipeline built on Direct3D 11, configured stage by stage from a starter codebase.

HLSL

Shaders written from scratch for the Direct3D 11 renderer, including shadow and post-processing passes.

Direct3D 11

GPU pipeline stage configuration, shader compilation and binding, and ImGui-based render-stage debugging.

Javascript

Browser game logic and prototypes — a PixiJS tabletop adaptation and PeaceLand's notebook interaction prototype.
